About CBDI
The Community Birth & Doula Initiative is a public-private partnership designed to support and advance state goals to improve perinatal outcomes. We advance systems and resources to bring doulas, midwives, and birth centers into the mainstream maternal child health networks. Using quality improvement and health communications strategies, the initiative is also supporting the use of effective transfer-of-care protocols to ensure the safe transition of patients between health care providers.
About DPIE
The MA Division of Pregnancy, Infancy, and Early Childhood promotes physical, social and emotional well-being and resilience. The Division fosters healthy environments during pregnancy, infancy, and through early childhood. Using the life course approach DPIE offers direct services, connections and referrals. It conducts research and evaluation; and supports policy and systems development to improve well-being of families across the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
